  HDV Preset Missing

  The native HDV codec (not the intermediate codec) in FCP 5.0 is missing after the installation of the latest OS X BM drivers.

  I can’t capture to it or use it. I get a message when I try to capture from a Sony FX1 camcorder, “Codec Missing”

  Does the desktop video setting in BM control panel override the HDV setting or something?

  Any advice is appreciated. I checked the apple store and the workstations there with FCP 5.0 and sure enough the HDV codec preset exists. But its missing on my setup!

  Hi George,

  We do not override the HDV codecs in your installation. Check the folder “/Library/QuickTime/” and see if you’ve got the AppleHDVCodec component in there.
