  Decklink HD Pro Single Frame Flash then Crash

  Here’s the problem. When attempting to play either HD or NTSC video through the Deck Control software or FCP 5.0.3 the first frame is shown for a fraction of a second and then the Television monitor goes black. From that moment on, the Blackmagic Desktop will not re-appear and if the playback was attempted in FCP it will cause the software to freeze. Restarting will restore the Blackmagic Desktop.

  I have done a clean install of the the OS and its updates, FCP and its updates, and the latest Blackmagic software. No change.

  Oddly, I can use the log and capture window in FCP perfectly. I can also use the deck control features in the Deck Control software. In both of these situations, the monitor and Blackmagic card seem fine. However, the moment I try to play a captured clip or one of the Blackmagic color bar movies, the problem returns.

  Hey guys,

  Dave @ Blackmagic also suggested removing the Sonnet card. Same problem. I also disconnected everything else (misc firewire and USB drives, shuttle, etc. No difference.
