November 21, 2005 at 6:55 pmHave you updated to the latest version of quicktime?
Can you see any other ouput from an app through the card eg FCP?
Have you hit the video preview button in Shake?
Have you set the number of monitors correctly in globals so that it forces the preview to the card?

November 22, 2005 at 4:02 amHi,
Please update to the latest of everything and this should work, ie Shake 4.0 with QuickTime 7.0.3 and DeckLink 5.1.2 drivers. Update to at least Mac OS X 10.4.2. Mac OS X 10.4.3 is generally OK but will cause Motion 2.0 to crash when using DeckLink cards with the extended desktop enabled. So its up to you whether you want to use Mac OS X 10.4.2 or 10.4.3. Shake 4 is now working fine here whereas there were problems using earlier versions of software with Shake 4. Please let me know how you go.

Luke Maslen

Shake4 works fine with 10.3.9 – it was the early version of QT7 that caused the problems such as 10bit material not FileIn correctly.

Thanks for your information. That does sound encouraging and hopefully the QuickTime update will solve this Shake 4 problem too.

November 28, 2005 at 12:51 amHi Amr,
Pretty much any QuickTime-based video application on Mac, which supports QuickTime video output components, can be used with DeckLink cards. Applications include: Final Cut Pro, SoundTrack Pro, Motion, Shake, After Effects, Combustion, Blackmagic Deck Control, Photoshop and Live Channel Pro. I’ve probably forgotten some but those are the ones that immediately spring to mind.
