  • Conflicts with AJAio and Blackmagic Decklink video hub?

Posted by Bchappell on October 18, 2005 at 4:46 pm

Hello. We have been using an AJAio with a Blackmagic Decklink Video Hub running FCP 4.5 and it has been running great. We upgraded to FCP 5 and now there is no picture and audio sync issues. The system is running Tiger 10.4.2 on a Dual 1.8 G5. Has anyone had any conflicts running the Decklink Video Hub with an AJA in FCP 5??

    thanks!

load the new AJA driver, AND download the AJA IO Control Panel. When you launch it, it will update your firmware in the AJA I/O, and your SDI video will now come out of your AJA IO. There is nothing wrong with your Videohub.

    Hi Ben,

Bob’s suggestion is probably the answer to your problem. However if you find that you still cannot output video from your Io to the Workgroup Videohub after the software/firmware update, it would be a good idea to check if you can output video from the Io regardless of whether the Videohub is connected or not. In other words, try connecting a monitor directly to the Io to check for video output. Obviously if it’s not outputting video then Videohub won’t receive any video.

I would also suggest that you review the support note No video output from DeckLink in Final Cut Pro HD v5.0. While this was written with DeckLink cards in mind, it should also apply to other capture devices used with Final Cut Pro 5.0.
