    Hello
I just received, via UPS, my Decklink HD card, and I’m in the middle of the field, in a place where I can’t buy any connecting cables. I do have SDI cables, which I plugged in, but it seems I can’t control the deck via SDI… Is this the case? If I can’t get my hands on an RS422 cable, will I not be able to control the deck via Final Cut Pro or the deckling deck control?

    Thanks
    Alex

Oh, and forgot to mention : since I plugged in the card and installed the decklink software, I don’t get an image into FCP via SDI, unless I’m fast-forwarding the deck…Which seems to mean there is a signal going through, but there is apparently some type of problem for the card to recognize it correctly…

SDI is only audio/video. Control is 422 when you use SDI. 9pin serial calbes should work.
