    hi all

appologies for the repost, but i’m hoping to score a better hit on the BMD reps radar this time…

wondering if anyone else has seen this problem w/ Decklink HD Pro – FCP5.02
we’ve cut a project at OfflineRT with source orginally captured from digibeta with a Decklink Extreme
now we’ve recaptured at Uncompressed 8 bit 1080/60i from the HDCAM originals using a Decklink HD Pro card

the first issue was that the output to our HD monitor was letterboxed … checked in the Decklink PrefPane and sure enough the HDTV Up/Down Convertor Output was “On” by default, set to SD-Letterbox 16:9 …. so I turned it to “Off”.

the monitor then corectly displayed the output unletterboxed.
but when I reopened the Decklink Preferences, despite the (now) correct output to the monitor, the setting for HDTV Up/Down Convertor Output had reverted to SD-Letterbox 16:9.

but after a not too close look we realised it was still downconverting to SD, it just wasn’t letterboxed!
no amount of messing with the prefs would make it work.

time for new drivers … downloaded and installed ver 5.1.

opened the prefpane and again downconvert was enabled by default(?). set it to “Off” and checked the output … all was well in HD to monitor land

I again reopened the Decklink Preferences and as before although the output was working, the settings for Up/Down converter had reverted again.

i guess as long as we’re getting true HD it doesn’t really matter what the driver prefs say (although if and when the mac gets rebooted we have to go back in and reset the prefs everytime)

does anyone else see this strange behaviour?
    cheers
    Andy

FWIW downloaded and installed driver ver 5.1.2 today … the issue appears to be fixed. Good work, Thanks.

    Cheers
    Andy
