DeckLink Extreme PCIe – world’s first capture card for PCIe.
Hi,
Blackmagic Design has introduced a new card at IBC 2005 in Amsterdam. It is the DeckLink Extreme PCIe which plugs in to a PCI Express (PCIe) slot. DeckLink Extreme PCIe is the world’s first uncompressed video capture card for PCIe.
Many new PC’s feature PCIe slots rather than the traditional PCI and PCI-X slots. PCIe motherboards are less expensive for manufacturers to make so there are going to be more and more computers released with PCIe motherboards.
We’ve brought the existing DeckLink Extreme up to date so that owners of new computers can use DeckLink cards. Just choose between DeckLink Extreme or DeckLink Extreme PCIe depending upon the slots in your PC.
DeckLink Extreme PCIe is a 1 lane PCIe card ideal for multi layer real time effects providing compatibility with new high speed Windows PC motherboards, while allowing full compatibility with 1, 4, 8 and 16 lane PCI Express slots.
It can be used with inexpensive Dual Core PC’s which provides a fantastic solution for high quality, low cost, uncompressed, standard defintion video editing.
DeckLink Extreme PCIe is the same cost as the existing DeckLink Extreme at US$895. The card has been completed and is being manufactured now so we expect first shipments to commence in about 2 weeks.
