I have a Decklink HD connected to an HD Link, which drives a 23″ Cinema Display.

The audio issue: When I use the HD Link’s RCA outs, I get static in the output, the tweeter side, bad FM radio connection style static. I’ve changed cables and speakers with the same result. Built in Audio on the Mac works fine with both speakers. The HD Link is sitting on a non-metal countertop. It goes directly back to the computer…I’m looking for shielding issues, the other monitor nearby is a 17″ ADC monitor…The HD Link is near the Cinema Display power plug, obviously I can’t move them too far apart…Any thoughts?

The Video Issue: I notice on the HD monitor, peach colored pixels bleeding through random sections of the image. It could be a bright or dark section. Of course, I really notice it if I have used a B/W filter. If I play out to my standard monitor, I see nothing unusual. Similarly, if I plug my Cinema Display into the back of the Mac, it does not show these artifacts, leading me to believe that this is DeckLink Related. (I have not touched the HD Link monitor calibration software…)

    Hi Whit,

In relation to your HDLink audio noise problem, we’ve had a couple of reports of that but have not been able to replicate it in house. We would very much like to get hold of your unit for testing as it clearly exhibits the problem. Would you please either email or phone David Spoelstra on support-use@ blackmagic-design.com or 317-536-5684 to organize an RMA and a replacement unit.

It will also be useful to learn if the replacment unit resolves your peachy pixels issue.

    Regards,

    Luke,

Indeed, I had been in contact with David Spoelstra, who advised an RMA.
The unit, my second, was sent back.
Mike Skriba was incredibly helpful in expediting the process.
In fact, I can say unequivocally, that everyone with whom I have dealt at BMD has been very attentive and very helpful.
Bottom line is that the new HD-Link arrived yesterday, audio issues gone – no more peachy pixels.
All is (knock on wood) well.
May the issues with my old unit help to improve the product, which right now is serving me very well.

    All the best,

    Whit
