    Noob question…

I have a BM Declink SP card and version 5 of FCP.

Adjusting the vector scope to calibrate color bars.

In the log and capture window under the “clip settings” the video check box is ticked but the adjustment sliders are all grayed out. So how can i adjust the incoming video? Do i have to use the proc amp in the control panels? I bet there is a simple answer but it has eluded me..

    cheers

    on a side note:
I come from a Media 100 background and recently switched to Final Cut Pro and Declink and I have to say that everyday I am amazed at the power of this combination truly amazing..

    Hi Karl,

You guessed it. Proc Amp in the DeckLink preferences is where you need to make this adjustment.

I don’t know the reason why it is grayed out in FCP but my guess is that we don’t want FCP to be able to make changes with other DeckLink card models as they are SDI-based and should not be altered. The Proc Amp setting is purely for the analog video on analog cards such as DeckLink SP and DeckLink Extreme.

It’s great that you are enjoying the combination of FCP and DeckLink and please let us know if you have any further questions.

Luke, I have tried to make adjustments with the Proc Amp in the sys Prefs, but nothing happens when I do it. Is there some special way. Also in order to adjust the settings you have to leave FCP and go to the finder to access the prefs, therefore I cant see any of the adjustments in the FCP Waveforms. Please post on this. I really need it.
