    hey there
I use a decklink sp together with a sony BVW70P.
everything worked fine (capture and play to tape) in the beginning (from premiere as well as from deck control)

all of a sudden (I think after I captured from premiere using firewire . but I am not certain) it stopped transmittng the timecode. I can still control the deck fully (from deck control only – not premiere) but I can’t play to tape anymore (because the deckcontrol says I have “No Comm”).

even after installing a fresh OS with decklink and premiere only it doesn’t work.

    I tried drivers 4.7.5 and 5.1.2.

    can anybody help?
    thank you! lars

    Hi Lars,

You say that timecode is not available any more in Premiere Pro but that you can control the deck using Blackmagic Deck Control. Can you see timecode in Blackmagic Deck Control?

Are you using the latest Premire Pro 1.5.1?

    hello luke
I have a license for premiere 1.5 – so I guess I should be able to upgrade to 1.5.1.

on the deckcontrol I also don’t see the timecode though.
(even before installing premiere on a freshly installed XP pro).

should I go for the 1.5.1. before we go on?

    thank you for your help!

    hello luke
I updated to premiere 1.5.1. bu still there is control but no time code (No Comm).
also I made sure to have directx 9.0c and quicktime 6.5 on the fresh system (the former one already had quicktime 7 pro)

could it be a hardware thing? the card is brand new but who knows?

    any idea?

thank you and greetings from berlin

    Hi Lars,

Can you please check that the deck is set to LTC or Auto. If the switch has been changed to VITC, then this would explain your problem.

    hey
yes – I have checked this setting. it is set to auto. also to remote and to TC.
I even tried to remove my soundcard and the sata drives even though they are on board (now the decklink sp is the only pci card). still No Comm.

    Hi Lars!

I’ve had a similar problem on my Mac once, that time it was the tape recorder that was bust, had the same exact symptoms.
