Multibridge HD will not embed AES channels 5-8
A client sent us ten hours of DA88 tapes with 5.1 and stereo (8 channels total). I was excited to finally get a chance to capture multiple audio tracks at once, cutting the capture time from 40 hours down to 10 hours.
My DA88 deck is feeding 8 AES channels into a Decklink Multibridge HD, which embeds the channels accordingly into the SDI, which then goes into a Decklink Extreme.
I cannot get Final Cut 5 or the Blackmagic Deck Utility to see channels 5-8 no matter what. Final Cut will only see 1-4. All 12 channels are available in the log and capture window, and 1-8 are all turned on, but I only get levels on 1-4. Using the Multibridge Utility (1.51), I can re-route 5&6 or 7&8 into either 1&2 or 3&4, and I do indeed hear what’s on those channels. So I know the multibridge is seeing all 8 channels, but it doesn’t seem to be sending them. Or perhaps the Decklink Extreme is only picking up 1-4.
