When I install the latest 5.0 mac drivers I get absolutely nothing.. no decklink output of any kind and when I look at system info there is no sign of a decklink card…

    Going back to 5.0

    Hi Jason,

Kindly run the “Uninstall Blackmagic” tool before applying the new update.

I’ve reported this too, on a G5 DP 1.8 OSX 10.4.1, QT 7.0.1. Uninstalled 5.0b4 and then installed 5.0 and the “newer version” warning didn’t show up. But now I’ve lost video output and the “enable QT playback” is grayed out. Incidentally this system does not have FCP installed since I haven’t got FCP 5.0 yet. Could that be it?

And, when I “switch” to a Panther partition (actaully a separate disk in the same system), all is well so the sard and connections are fine. “There” I have 10.3.9, QT 6.5.2, BM 4.8.1.

    And one more thing…
This system has valid ref connected from the house sync, but the genlock slider is also grayed out.

    Thanks Kristian,

We are now experiencing a loss of SDI output with the 5.0 b2 drivers… I’ll try the uninstall and the reinstall of the v 5 drivers…

Oh why did I ever upgrade?? oh yeah.. to install FCP 5…

I have reported a similar problem with HD-SDI. When I capture clips, the reference handle put in the bin will play audio only and blank video in the viewer and on the sequence. I have to delete them from the bin and import them to get them to play properly. Kristian Lam thought it might be because FCP log and capture dosen’t put a .mov file extention on the the file, but I didn’t think Apples cared about file extensions.

My problem is a bit different, that I get nothing out of the sdi output.. the analog output seems to be working…

So, everything cleared up when I did an uninstall of the 5.0 b drivers and then a “clean” install of the 5.0 drivers.. Had a cable go bad just after the installation.. so that was confusing for a while. Bad timing.
