    I have Decklink Extreme.

I upgraded my system to FCP 5 and Tiger – installing Tiger first as recommended by BlackMagic’s web FAQ. And I’ve reinstalled FCP 5. But I still can’t get video output on my monitor playing back in FCP. Other programs show up fine, like Soundtrack Pro’s Video, After Effects and Photoshop.

I’ve refreshed the AV Devices, and I’ve made sure All Frames were playing back on the External Video. Also, I’ve chosen the usual Easy Setup to “BlackMagic NTSC – DV”.

I do notice that the View/Video Playback/”Blackmagic NTSC – 8 bit” is selected rather than the “BlackMagic NTSC – DV”, but I’ve been told by BlackMagic to stick to the EasySetups. (My source is DV, by the way.) Just to make sure, I tried the DV Playback, with no better results.

All this used to work fine with 4.5.

Also, I’ve downloaded and installed the latest beta software as of today, which is 5.0b4.

    Sure appreciate any help. Thanks!

So what did you do to fix it? I realize now I DO have Automatic Duck. I installed for AE, but it also installed for FCP. Thanks!

You have to make Autoduck load last in your FCP plug-in folder. I put a z in front of the Auto duck plug-in names. Seems to work fine.

Oh really! it still works with a “Z” in front of the name. OK!!! I just took it out for now but i will try that.

    It’s working for me.

Plugin effects and the BlackMagic plugins are working, and I’ve also been able to export a FCP project to After Effects using the Duck plug-in.

That was it, I just renamed the plug-in by putting a “z” in front of it. Thanks to everyone.

    Hi Tudor,

Thank you for letting us know that renaming the Automatic Duck plug-in overcame the problem. I have updated the technical note at https://www.blackmagic-design.com/support/detail.asp?techID=97 as a result of your posting.
