    Hi guys,

I posted a few days ago, asking for how to correctly capture and remove footage with standard 3:2 pull down. I was helpfully, told that just capturing with the 23.98 easy setup and have in points on the correct frame would do the job. So far it has worked beautifully.

The only issue is that about 1 in 5 clips has weird drop outs. Little glitches that appear on the odd frame. A side beside comparison does not reveal these to be on the master tape. Nor when I recapture do the glitches appear on the same frame. Sometimes the clip comes out clean. Somtimes the glitch manifests somewhere else. Any idea, what might be causing this? Is there anything I can do about it, besides just playing roulette with log and capture.

    Cheers

    Julian

    Hi Julian,

Please post some information about your setup including Mac or Windows, version numbers for your operating system, NLE software and DeckLink drivers. Are you working in SD or HD? What deck are you using and do you connect via SDI or analog? Do you use genlock? All these details will help to narrow down your problem.

    Hi Luke,

I have a G4 dual 1.2 gigahertz. I am running FCP HD in OS 10.3.9. I know this is a hated operating system by blackmagic, but I had very little choice. As I could not find a working link for quicktime 6.5.2. There were working links for 6.5.2 reinstallers that uninstall quicktime 7, but these were for OS 10.3.9. So, that’s my OS and I am running Quicktime 7.0.1.

I am connecting with SDI and do not have house sync. I have set the deck to internal video reference.

Thats the setup. I hope everyone isn’t going to say its OS 10.3.9, as I am now in the middle of a project, so switching OS, doesn’t seem like a very good idea now.
