Final Cut HD 4.5, Decklink drivers 4.8, OS X 10.3.8

I’ve posted on this here before, but I just need a quick confirmation on a few points.

When Editing to Tape, Final Cut does not accept that the sequence and output settings are different from eachother and output is aborted. Is there a way to get Final Cut to accept that BMD DL Extreme can in fact output a Photo-Jpeg sequence with 8-bit uncompressed output settings?

The obvious workaround is to render out my JPEG sequence to 8-bit uncompressed, but I’m slightly allergic to switching codecs. Will my 75% JPEG material (it was captured directly from an SDI digital videoswitcher) take a significant quality hit from recoding to 8-bit uncompressed? We are talking jazz and rock live concerts here, aimed for DVD-production and national broadcasting, and I really want it to be crisp and creamy.

I’m guessing I have to stock up on anti-histamines and get ready to render out the material in 8-bit uncompressed, but I find it a bit silly that I can’t get this ETT business to work. Am I the only one with this problem?

    thanks,

    Geir

Hi, You shouldn’t have to render. I seem to recall having this message and it was only a quirk of the “edit to tape” function. Did you try dragging the sequence to the “assemble” button on the edit to tape window?
