    Hi Guys,

i am using a decklink extreme with ppro on win xp.
all works fine for me but if i want to make a letterbox layer with an aplha channel (tga or psd..)
and put them on a videolayer obove the videos–> it works, if there are no video or picture under the letterbox layer–ppro show a white backgroung and on playback ppro crashes…;-(

anybody having the same problem on there systems??
    any tips?

    thanks
    Jens

Make sure you have the right format TGA. Non-keyed TGA on a PAL system must be 720×576 32-bit. A quick solution is to have a color effect applied that does nothing instead of starting up PhotoShop and resize the image.

The problem is that the BMD drivers try to handle TGA files natively without rendering. BMD didn’t implement a resize algorithm for this and that’s the problem…

    Hi,

Try to generate a two-layers image in Photoshop (720×675). Use the above layer for your letterbox-stripes and leave the rest transparent, without generating an extra alpha-channel. Save as PSD. Import only the letterbox-layer into PPro and put it into the timeline – this works fine for me, but needs some rendering anyway.
