  Flickering playback

  I am creating an animation. I am moving between a couple of 3d layers. when I playback my movie sometimes I get flicker other times there is no flicker. I am playing back in WMP. Does any member know what is happening here?

  Knowing the size, frame rate and codec for your render will help.
  Are you getting the same flicker in a RAM preview in AE?

  This may not end up being your problem, but it’s a good start – before you render, in After Effects select Edit>Purge>Purge All.

  This will clear all preview frames out of RAM. Sometimes, as you change an animation around, old frames will get stuck in the buffer and result in screwy flickering that seems to come and go as you described.
