    Well, sort of.

I have a series of small vector shapes and I would like to ‘trigger’ them to scale up and then scale down, in order. Something like the C4D step effector or adding a text animation to make individual letters larger and then smaller with a Range Selector. Obviously I can just keyframe everything, but there will be a lot of images and I was just wondering if there was a script or an expression I could use.

    Thanks

Take a look at Dan Ebberts’s Creating Trails article [link] for how to create follow-the-leader animations with expressions.

Alternatively to what Walter said, if you can create your image as a shape layer, you can use repeaters and do all kinds of fun stuff with it.

This page [link] offers a great, in-depth look at Shape layers and the power they hold. I found that page linked here in the AE help [link].

    Thanks guys.

Michael: unfortunately all the shapes are different and will need to scale independently and at different rates, so I don’t think shape layers will help here.

I am exploring Dan’s site to see if I can adapt any of the expressions, but expressions are not my strong point…
