  • random flying out text by letter- TEXT SELECTORS? Expressions?

I would like to achieve the effects of each character of a word or sentence flying out independently like a bunch of flies scattering off a melting Popsicle or whatever. I’ve been trying to do this using text selectors wiggle etc. but I just can’t seem to get there. Perhaps the effects I’m after cannot be achieved this way and I need to start thinking about an expression. any help on this would be grateful. the only way I’ve been able to do it in the pastis to animate each character individually but this process is obviously counter productive when you need to introduce new text each time. One thing to remember is that I don’t just want to have them fly off in straight lines but rather go off on curvy paths. any help would be loads appreciated.

    Gavin…
I did something like this in my last AE tutorial, “Shatter-MATION”,
basically using the shatter effect to animate text.
Don’t know if this is your answer, but it may give you some ideas.

Have you checked out all of the text animation presets? There are several for randomly animating out.
