    I’ve been tasked with taking a series of existing commercials which show people holding large signs with numbers on them, and digitally replacing those old numbers with different numbers.

    I normally work in After Effects and Apple Motion, but this level of compositing is a bit more than I’m used to. Is there any other software that would allow me to track and composite more effectively?

    I’m really open to any advice or methods that anyone has. Thanks!

    You’ll want to look at MochaAE (bundled with AE CS4 & CS5), Mocha or MochaPro to acquire the tracking data. There are parts where roto-ing will be required such as when the cards are moved behind a actor’s body.
