  shatter source text change

  hello

  i have a precomped layer as a “custom” source (simple text) for a shatter later,
  i am trying to change the text inside the “custom” source precomp during a simple camera (shatter camera)rotation. however the effect doesn’t seem to pick up the change within the precomp layer.

  i would appreciate if someone can point out anything i am missing or any workarounds to this.

  How are you trying to change the text- do you have two text layers and are cross fading or a different method?

  i originally had two text layers in the precomp (two lines of words)

  i tried both:

  1. layers changing after a certain number of frames
  i,e. the initial two layer ends on 200th frame and another similar two layers begins from the the next frame (201th frame)

  2. i tried animating the “text source” in the initial layers to new texts

  either did not work for me.

  It may be that you need to do the shatter on two text layers, precomp them and time remap the second to reverse the effect and then fade between them.
