Anyone know the best version of quicktime is good to use with AE cs5.5?

I’m getting a 78 :: 7 error in After effects (MAY OR MAY not be related to quicktime). I’m on a macbook pro, 8gb of ram. Not using multi processing.

The clip I’m rendering is pretty heavy and has given me all sorts of issues. First it wouldn’t render then I took all the clips out of the procomposition that the render was stopping at and then placed them on the main timeline. Solved the old issue but I had to put it back in Precomp because optical flares just wasn’t doing what I wanted out of the precomp. Now I get the 78 :: 7 error.

The clip renders perfectly (within and outside of precomp) at work with their MacPro tower (they never update their stuff though, so I’m thinking it maybe running an old version of quicktime, along with it being a beefier computer).

Have you seen the Mylenium error database entry [link] for 78 :: 7?

I wonder if the issue is with Optical Flares — are you running different versions of that on your machine and at the office? Does it make a difference if you render on the GPU or on the CPU?
