Need help with animated vortex morph, thanks Steve Roberts
Your insight on my trip to Phoenix was helpful, And I do have a storyboard for my production. It is in my head but I can see it.
The most involved technique I will outline.
A digital photo/image zooms smaller into the background and as it recedes deeper it turns into a misty ghost vapor snaking in the ether. The vapor now small in the background then starts to slowly swirl into a a semi-transparent vortex of mist. Like looking down into the top of a tornado slowly spining and undulating. Out of the slowly turning vortex comes more vapor oozing forward and as it is snaking forward it turns into a line of solid text. More vapor issues forth from the slowly turning misty ethereal vortex morphing into more lines of text. The text remains for a period of time and then turns into a misty ghost like vapor again that changes to the color of the photo/image and morphs solid once again into the digital photo/image.
I am using After Effects 6.5 pro, Photoshop CS, Illustrator, Premier Pro 1.5. Are these programs capable of creating the effect/animation described above? Do I need additional plugins such as Re:Flex. Should I be using 3d studio max and/or combustion 4? I will take the time to learn how to create this animation. I just need to know if I am using the correct tools. Will the cc plugins create the ghost like mist?
Do any tutorials come to mind for this. At http://WWW.theanvel.com ,Dean Velez shows a mist like I am lookig for with his text distractions – free AE 6.5 text animations link. https://www.theanvel.com/TextDistractions_content.html
The mist swirl is the fourth anim example displayed in Dean’s series. Any ideas on creating this effect? Thanks for your efforts and help,
