May 3, 2011 at 4:31 pmI’d like to know whether AE CS5.5 includes expanded support for Cineform Neo 3D files. I had heard a rumor that this was true, but some confirmation might sway the powers that be that an upgrade is in order 🙂
Specifically I’d be looking at a round trip composite in which compositing needs to be done on the left and right eyes and a new Cineform Neo 3D file needs to be output.
As always, thanks Todd!

May 3, 2011 at 4:59 pmThanks Dave, but I did read Todd’s original post as well as the link he provided 😉
I thought I’d ask a very specific question that isn’t covered in the linked list. It’s likely not there because there have been no changes to the way that AE handles Neo 3D files, but Todd gave me hope with this:
“This post is just an early summary for now.”
and I just had to ask.
Just in case anyone missed it, here’s the link:

May 3, 2011 at 5:03 pmI know of no changes regarding Cineform Neo3D related to After Effects CS5.5.
My comment about it being an early summary was more about not having good tutorials on every feature yet. You can trust that every feature or change in After Effects CS5.5 is mentioned in that post—though tersely.

May 7, 2011 at 12:46 amDid Adobe reinstate the wireframe preview? I don’t understand what the point was of removing it in CS5.

We couldn’t find anyone who used it or needed it. When porting an entire application to 64-bit, every feature takes extra work. Unused features were jettisoned.
If you want to make a request for it to return, you can do so here.
