  Light acting weird in scene

  I have a light in my scene with a 3d text layer.

  My light’s intensity is constant, no keyframes.

  My 3d text layer is set up so that it comes in abruptly, no keyframing of opacity…..just simply set the layer to start at a certain time in the timeline.

  My problem is that when i reach this point in my timeline (where the text layer begins), the light affects the text in a weird way. Kinda of like a short, subtle yet noticeable, burst of intensity….decreasing in intensity over a few frames until finally settling on a constant looking intensity.

  The effect is as if i keyframed the intensity of the light from 300% to %150 over a few frames….followed by a constant %150……..but i didn’t keyframe anything. I don’t get it.

  So, i turned off my light….and it’s still doing this.

  I have material settings on my 3d text layer…..a lot of shininess….does this have anything to do with it?

  Hey guys,

  please disregard my question….i figured it out.

  I forgot about a layer on top, i had set to soft light and keyframed the opacity…which was subtly effecting my whole comp……stupid.
