  Unexpected Failure during application startup

  When i try to open after effects, i get the warning: “Could not rename the file /Users/Username/library/preferences/adobe/after effects/10.0/workspaces.”

  When i click ok, it gives me the same message again, and then says: “After effects cant continue: unexpected failure during application startup.”

  How can i get rid of this so i can start using After Effects?

  Trash your preferences file. Just hold ctrl+alt+shift on a PC or command+option+shift on a mac while starting AE.
