  pixie dust without trapcode plugins

  anyone achieved the old pixie dust effect with particle playground?
  what are the settings?

  yeah, works great. Don’t remember the exact parameters, but make it a fuzzy sphere and throw some glow on it. Make the glow colors yellowish and pinkish.

  Make the particle gravity very light and make the speed low so they kind of stay where the emitter (or cannon) goes.

  You could try this one, but to make it look really nice, it uses Shine.

  By the way, buy Shine, it’s so worth it. It’s value goes far beyond simple light rays. You can achieve wonderful, complex glows with it.

  thanks thats great.

  actually I do own Trapcode Shine and Trapcode 3dStroke but not their Particular plugin that generates fireworks, pixie dust etc.. hence the enquiry.

  you could also just use the effect called “CC ParticleSystems 2” which has a “pixie dust” particle shape already in there.

  You need to have a non-educational Pro version of AE- the Cycore effects are a seperate insstaller in the CD.
