Hi all i have a 2k apple prores 422 hq 25fps quicktime file. i want to make a high quality sd dvd from this file. I have tried various different ways of doing this and the final product looks ok but not great compared to the original.
I have since been informed that i can get a good after Effects down-conversions.
Im not sure of the best way to do this, if anyone can offer some insight i would appreciate it. Thanks and im working on a mac.

AE is not really designed for compression. Adobe Media Encoder is what you want to use. If you just have a .mov you want down-converted then open that file in Encoder and use a preset, if you have a AE project, open the project in Encoder, select the comp you want rendered and then the settings you want to use. AE does not do multipass while Encoder does and that’s what you want for a compression.
