  reduce audio to keyframes amount

  Hi to everybody!
  I have this problem: I’m trying to link the audio of a footage to the scale of another layer. The “convert audio to keyframes” function just works great but I noticed that the difference between the resulting scale values is too much for the desired effect. We just want to reduce the difference between values…we tried to write something like “*0,10” in the slider expression but this just reduce all the scale values by one 10th preserving the relative difference and not reducing the “huge pulsing” effect.

  Can you help us?

  If you do not want to mess with expressions I would recommend using Soundkeys.

  You can set a value to be the maximum where any values higher will be brought down to this maximum value.

  The following script should work.

  temp = thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Both Channels”)(“Slider”);
  maxValue = 15;
  if (temp >maxValue) {
  temp=maxValue;
  [temp,temp]
  } else {
  [temp,temp]
  }
  //

  we tried your script and it works! It seems to be very useful also for a lot of other issues like reducing the amount of parented effects! Really thanks!

  I would also like to add that you can reduce the number of keyframes by using the Smoother Keyframe Assistant.
