    Hello,

I did ask this in the Zaxwerks area but no reply – it’s kind of urgent, anyone here help?

I am sure this is really simple but I can’t work it out.

I have created a cube using 3d Invigorator Pro for AE in ‘create 3d primitive’.

Now all I want to do is have video footage I have exported from Final Cut Pro as DVPAL Quicktime on opposite side of the cube.

So two walls of the cubs are video footage. I have tried to follow the instructions about layer maps etc.. but the best I could do was a tiny texture map.

I want video on two of the sides and I need them to be able to spin with the cube.

    Thank you very much!!

Why don’t you try the Box Creator Lite which comes bundled with AE?
There you can easily set the different sides.

Drop 6 files to the timeline, enable ‘3D Layer’, and go to Window>Box Creator Lite.

Is this what you want to do?

Thanks for that. Yes. I want something like that.

I am on a mac with AE 6.5 Pro. But I can not find this “Box Creator lite”

    Not under’window’ or ‘effect’

    Thanks

It should be under “window”, visible when you have more than one 3D layer selected.

… I believe it was a separate install from the AE CD.

Thanks. Will look for other CD’s.

But with Invigorator I have got the texture map working. But can I get 1layer of video on one side and a second layer of video on another?

You can apply a different layer map to each side of the cube if you want. Just select the cube, click on the Material Setup button, and drag your texture map materials to the numbered (1-6) boxes beneath the scene preview window.

I tell you it’s hard work this invigorator! It wont let me, it will only let me drag one video layer to the cube. It will only let me drag the second video layer if I delete the first.

Question about the Box Lite – I have 6.5 Pro, and as usual the company i work for has misplaced the cd’s. I do have my AE6.5 Pro serial numbers, anyway of downloading box lite for free? Was I meant to have it in the first place?

Basically, I have to do this edit today and tomorrow, and to funk it up, the whole edit is going to be on two sides of the cube, it will spin around with the cuts etc.. Invigorator is really hard to position the camera around.

Instead of downloading the whole 3d Assistant package – I just need the box option – the demo has run out aswell!

    Any help!

    Thank you.

    Hey!

You just have to use the UV editor Invigorator gives you to map it. Play around with the red arrows and numbers in the material editor. Each number corresponds to a different texture map. Hence, #1 goes with material in the #1 slot below it…

Also, if you check “Use Comp Camera,” animating by using the composition’s camera with Invigorator becomes 100 times easier.

    Cheers!
