‘Reverse’ scrolling text preset
Hi guys,
I’m looking for a vertical scrolling text preset, that needs to run ‘downwards’ instead of the usually used ‘upwards’ motion. The words should scroll to the bottom of the screen, instead of going up like the usual ending film credits. Should be compatible with CS4, wondering if such a uncommon preset exists?

you can use a simple expression like this for a layer’s position:
rate = -2; // value in pixels per frame; + value go up; - go down.
value - [0,timeToFrames()*rate]modifying the ‘rate’ value will effect the speed of the scroll. whole numbers will ensure text rasterization to be consistent, even values will ensure rasterization to be consistent for field rendering. and positive values will scroll upwards, negative values will scroll downwards.
if this works for you, you can save it as a preset (select the position property, then choose animation>save animation preset…).

select the property to add the expression to in the timeline (in this case ‘position’), then choose animation>add expression (or you can option+click or alt+click the stopwatch for the property).

Just throwing this out here, you could always create a tall comp, write your list of credits or whatever your scrolling, and then tell it to go whatever direction you want. That would seem to be easier than getting into expressions.
