  AE fails to close properly

  Began this habit recently, and every once in a while I can safely exit out of AE, without it remaining on my taskbar…whereupon it then freezes and I must ctr+alt+delete out.

  Sounds pretty vague, I know, but that’s really it. I haven’t installed/update anything new for the past few months, and the problem randomly occurs.

  Suggestions? New updates I’ve missed?

  Sounds like you’re low on RAM. What are you running with?

  4GB RAM on a Intel Core2 Duo, 1GB Nvidia Graphics card blah blah, 2.13GHz processor.

  It’s pretty standard…and I used to be able to exit properly. Not anymore these days, apparently.

  blah blah doesn’t help us. No OS info. Help us help you.

  Close all programs, clear out your media cache and temp files and reboot and see if that helps. Ensure you have the latest AE updates.

  This has started happening to me as well. I have found that if you “Save” then “Close Project” then “Quit”, After Effects will quit properly without hanging up.
