Mac Pro 2010 video card
I had a local computer shop take the unit in for evaluation. They said it was dead and brought it back (with a $200.bill, I might add).
Later, I contacted another computer shop to get a second opinion. They said there was NO video card installed! Since I can not get hold of the first shop; not answering calls, missing appointments, etc. I have to suspect that shop removed the card. To be honest, when the first shop returned the unit I did not look at it for several months; its back was not in my field of view.
My question is: which card is normally installed in a 2010 Mac Pro? This one was a four core, 32gigs of ram. Don’t know if that’s enough information.

That was plenty of information. According to everymac.com the 2010 Apple Mac Pro “Quad Core” 3.2 (2010/Nehalem) Specs contained a ATI Radeon HD 5770 with 1 GB of GDDR5 memory which sells today at OWC used for $217.75.
It’s kind of hard to go back after months but perhaps it was an honest mistake and they took the card out for testing but never out it back in? Otherwise they stole your graphics card and charged you the price of the card on top of that! Ouch!

It’s especially sad considering he also has an external drive I had asked him to evaluate some months ago and have never heard back. The drive isn’t worth much but the photos, music and software are not replaceable.
