Hello and thank you in advance for reading,

My problem is when I transfer a .wav file from a PNY 2gb memory card to my computer or external hard drive i get a code -36 error message. I’ve narrowed down which file is giving me the problem. Any ideas on how to fix this file?

Macbook pro OS X Yosemite 10.10.5

Error code -36 is a generic I/O Error and if it’s only happening on one file I would say the file might be corrupt somehow. Perhaps the recorder didn’t completely write it to disk? Or the PNY card has become corrupt and the file was written to a corrupt area.

I would look for a file recover tool to see if it can read the file and write it to your hard drive. When you are done, I would format the memory card to make sure that any corruption that might be there is eliminated. BTW, I never erase my memory cards, I always format them before each use. Good Luck!
