Wow thank you very much, John Rofrano for your timely and knowlegeable response. My internal drive is already partitioned but I never installed (or obtained) El Capitan.

If I’m not mistaken, it is downloading now from the Apple Store.

You said I should install Rosetta, “like Adobe told you to.” But where? What I have from Adobe is a bunch of download links for installing CS 2. Is info about Rosetta in here somewhere:

    VCS2.dmg
    CS_2.0_IE_Extras_1.dmg.bin
Screen shot Adobe Photoshop download info.png
    Affinity+Photo+Mac+Trial.dmg
    CS_20_IE_NonRet_D2.dmg (1).bin
    CS_20_IE_NonRet_D2.dmg.bin
    CS_20_IE_NonRet_D3.dmg.bin
    CS_20_IE_NonRet_D1.dmg.bin
    CS2_install_Mac.pdf
    PhSp_CS2_English.dmg (1).bin
    PhSp_CS2_English.dmg.bin

I see there are some files on my iMac that contain the name Rosetta. Do I maybe have Rosetta installed already?

    dyld_shared_cache_rosetta.map
    dyld_shared_cache_rosetta
    com.apple.pkg.update.rosetta.10.6.8.combo.plist
    com.apple.pkg.update.rosetta.10.6.8.combo.bom
    com.apple.pkg.Rosetta.plist
    com.apple.pkg.Rosetta.bom
    RosettaVersion.plist

    Thanks again.

    Walter
