We have a couple of 2010-2012 MacPro towers with Mavericks. We also have four MacPros with Mountain Lion. The Mavericks towers have issues when we connect our external SATA drives into StarTech Esata bays or StorCase external enclosures. Drives disappear from the desktop or the file copying stops and starts. Lots of issues with external drives when connected to any of the Esata external ports (some are Sonnett PCI cards or the OWC Excelsior PCIe SSD with esata ports). Have read some issues with Western Digital users and Mavericks with Esata.

Anyone see these issues under Mavericks and solved them with a Yosemite upgrade? Willing to try but wondering if Yosemite is a fix or if we will have to downgrade back to Mountain Lion.

    Running FCP7, Adobe CS6, etc.
