  Pages & Numbers auto-opens Format menu in Mavericks

  Is there a way to turn this feature off, so that when I open documents in Pages or Numbers, the Format bar on the right doesn’t open automatically? Also, is there a way to make sure documents open at the zoom level I choose? I set documents to 100% zoom, save and close them, but opening them again for some reason they open at 125% (I assume autosizing based on my screen size).
