Apple just auto-updated our Mac Pro “ProApps” QuickTime codecs and now none of our footage will play in FCP 7 or QuickTime. The footage is Sony XDCam EX 108060i 35mb/s VBR.

Everything was working fine before this update. Is there anyway to back out or reverse the update? Any other ideas? This is mission critical as this workstation is dedicated to working with that footage. All input is much appreciated.

Do you have Time Machine back ups or the earlier codecs package on a different non updated machine?
Maybe you could manually remove the updated codecs from their folder by simply dragging them to the trash or keeping them somewhere where they wont be a nuisance and replace them with the earlier versions?

    Just an idea.
