This is such an obvious question, forgive me if it’s too basic:

How can I record a video that is playing on the Internet? I want the video and the audio. This is for personal use only.

I’ve used Quicktime Player to record screen action, but without audio.

    Thanks!

    hello…

any reason you can’t just download the video from the site? even if it’s a major video site like youtube, there is software that will save an mp4 copy for you – google up youtube download or the likes…

(but be careful with some of those as they can be filled with malware)

or did you have something else in mind?

[Curtis Thompson] “did you have something else in mind?”

I was just hoping there was something as easy and straightforward as QT screen recording, with the addition of system audio.

But I will look for the software you mentioned. If anyone has a specific, virus-free title that would be most helpful.

    Thanks Curtis!

Firefox Add-on “Video Download Helper” works ok for this purpose, for much, but not all, content.

Good suggestion. That works well. Thank you.

I’ve been using that for a long time. Glad it helped solve your problem.
