I have a imac 24” and want to set up a dual monitor for editing. Sadly Apple no longer makes 24” stand alone monitors, only a 27 inch “apple cinema display monitor.” But, I’m then just thinking about having dual monitors with a 24” and a 27”.
At the same time, I’ve never sen an editor working with different screen sizes.

Does anyone think this is a bad idea? I’m worried that…the different sizes will make things hard to navigate/visually confusing.

We have found that working with two large 16×9 monitors was too wide a desktop to comfortably move horizontally across with the mouse. We settled on a 21 inch widescreen Dell paired with their 17 inch 4×3, which both have the same vertical height so they match perfectly.

The very reason you stated (that Apple no longer makes them) is why we stay away from Apple monitors. Dell has been very good to us and our budget!
