I recently bought an HDR-FX1, i have an old Power Mac Pro G4. (which cant handle the HD footage)

I would like to know what Computers Apple Or Windows i should get?

Im thinking an Apple Powere Mac G5. Dual Core (idk what speed) and 4gb?

would this be good with FCP and 1080i Footage?

my budget is around 500$ so i think a quad core is out of the questions.

Get a mac not a pc- that way you don’t have things like antivirus and a billions-of-times-overwritten operating system slowing you down. Other than that: get the best you can afford. Sounds obvious but it’s true: if I were you I’d save and wait until I could afford at least an intel mac- they’re faster processors and also allow you to run snow leopard: so 64 bit, open gl and gcd make it faster again.
