  Can’t copy and paste

  I am running a power mac g5, OS X 10.5.7, dual 1.8ghz powerpc

  I cannot copy or paste, or move files around within their own folders or move them to external or other internal drives.

  It shows nothing in the clipboard and it won’t even pick up the files to drag and drop.

  I have tried all the basic things,everything aside from reinstalling the software
  is there anything else I can do, I have not changed or installed anything recently.

  There are no error messages or anything else, it just won’t move files

  What do you consider basic things? it would help to know exactly what you have tried.
