    Hi Everyone:

I am attempting to import a Sony GV-HD700 into iMovie, but am simply getting a blue screen on the import. It shows the timestamp and can control the device. However, the same blue screen shows up and it doesn’t import any clips. I am wondering if anyone has a solution to this problem. It is connected via Firewire to my Mac running Snow Leopard and iMovie 2009. I also have Final Cut, in case it needs to be imported there… But I haven’t used it in awhile and may need some help getting it set up. The Log and Capture window says “Preview Disabled” even when it looks like it’s playing on the device.

    Thanks for any help!

Is your camera turned on when you load your programs? In Final Cut, if the camera is turned on after the software then you need to refresh the source. I would think iMovie would work the same way.
