    Hello COW users,
I’m having a issue with AE CS3 when I do Ram Reviews. the audio track for the music keeps cutting out or falling out of sync. I have tried the music track on different drives but the problem still shows up. I’m not sure if it is the bit rate or samples. please advice as to best audio format for AE.

    Is the file an MP3?

Avoid MP3, use .wav or .aiff instead.

    Bryan,
i always avoid MP3 because of the compression. I have tried a Wave and a AIFF. they both seems to do the same thing. randomly cutting out at different times. One other thing. when i got the music it was very loud so i turned down the levels in after effects.

I also found that when the cymbal crashs in the song produce static some times…. but according to the editors there is no static in the audio track… BTW.. this file came from a mac and I’m on a PC

    The cross-platform transfer should’t make a difference.

You say you “turn down the levels”, is the audio clipping?

If the original recording is above 0db, it’s clipping and will distort no matter what you do.
