    Hello There,

My Powerbook G4 is hanging on the apple startup screen… no spinning wheel. I’ve tried the p-ram etc and eventually resorted to booting from my external firewire seagate.
I managed to install os x 4 on the external but when I try to boot up from it, it keeps returning to a welcome to tiger screen. I see a message which says: ‘ If you have another mac you can transfer important info onto this new mac’ and gives me three options:
    1. Transfer my info from another mac
    2. Transfer my info from another partition o this mac
    3. Do not transfer

This leads me to believe that its seeing my computer as a new mac… is this right?
I dont have enough space to transfer all my info onto my drive, but if i choose option 3. will I lose all my info on the mac hard drive?

If its a case of transfering all my nb files then I’ll just get a new drive. Is there a chance of me losing vital info / applications?

    Thanks in advance…

    Bronwyn
