  Function Keys and Remote Not Working After Update

  Hi all.

  Just allowed my MacBook Pro to update using Software Update and by my understanding, it updated the security on the system, but after restarting twice just to check, none of my previously functioning Function Keys are working, and my Apple Remote doesn’t either. I’m not able to change the brightness or volume using the F1/2 and F4/5 keys as I did previously.

  Does anyone know how to amend this? Tried to restore Keyboard Shortkuts to factory default but this has no effect.
