Over the past few weeks, everytime I’m using Final Cut Studio 2, running OS X, and I leave my computer for more than 20 minutes, my screensavers come on, and then when I return and move my mouse, my screen will come back on and I can see my applications, but when I try to use any of them, the computer is frozen. This is a new development but is happening consistently now. Is there any kind of quick fix to this? Some setting I can put back on default or some disk cleanup program I can run, or do I need to contact my apple care program?

    Thanks for any insight.

For starters, make sure in System Preferences>Energy Saver that the “Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible” box is not checked.
