  • Removing raid1 from system disk for Safe Boot & OS upgrade?

Posted by Toke on June 3, 2008 at 6:56 am

I have my system on raid1 and so I can’t boot to Safe Mode for OS upgrade.
I’d like to hear opinions & experience about this.

    1) Is it possible to
    a) delete raid1 in Disk Utility
    b) Safe Boot to one of the disks from raid1
    c) Upgrade OS
    d) rebuild raid1 with upgraded OS

    2) Is Safe Boot still good idea for upgrading OS in Leopard? (MacFixIt recommends it…)

    3) Is deleting & rebuilding raid1 for OS upgrade worth for all the hassle needed?
