Hi Friends, I’ve got a pesky little spinning pinwheel of death about 10 minutes after every start up. I cant force quit any program I’m in and have to hard crash out of the freeze. Then it will start up and run all day without another freeze. Sometimes I can avoid the crash by restarting through mac restart. I’m running a G4 1.4 dual, 1.5gig ram, OS10.4.11. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I recently installed a secondary HDD and cloned the old to the new. I hadn’t had crashes like that before – but crashing didn’t start directly after the new drive install either. Could it be possible a software update like Adobe Reader could cause this? Thanks, Kind Regards, Chris K.

    Run disk utility

    Run cron tasks

    empty caches

reboot in safe mode by holding shift while starting the computer

See if the problem persists report back with results
