  won’t eject flash drives

  I’m getting an error in Leopard a lot when trying to eject a Flash drive. I’ll get a ‘can’t, it’s in use, try quitting applications… blah, blah…” but none of the files are being used anyway, AND when i quit the app, I still get the error… anyone else. Also, Leopard seems SLOW, especially going from the Finder to, say, Photoshop, i get the beachball for a while sometimes….
